Lava lamps are fluid motion lamps that are composed of a dual mixture of oil and water.

A source of heat is also crafted in it to produce a source of heat that initiate the processing of lamps.

This heat source is virtually a bulb placed below the lamp. The heat produced is applied to the fluid mixture, which does not mix because of the density difference.

But sometimes, the lava lamp loses its functionality after it gets shaken accidentally.

The water present becomes cloudy, and the oil droplets spread all over the lamp, which then reduces the visualization. So here we will inform you about the most common and easiest steps.

Turn off the lamp immediately after it shaking

The first thing you need to do is to turn off the lamp immediately after it shakes.

Don’t turn it on for the next 2 to 3 hours so that it will make the water cloud and the oil settle to their referred position and make the sight visible and clear.

If this won’t work, then turns the lamp on and then turn it off immediately after the fluid gets cloudy.

These steps must be done repeatedly for some time so that the problem should be fixed. If your lamp still won’t function well, then the next mentioned step is surely helpful.

So, the next thing that will help to run the lamp smoothly is that you have to turn the lamp on and then run it on for the next 9 to 10 hours.

This process will produce enough heat that will make settling the cloudy water mixture, and the lamp will regain functionality.

If the above step does not work effectively, then all you do is proceed toward the next step. Turn the lamp off and allow it to cool. After cooling, the wax present in the lamp will become stiff.

Now open the lid of the lamp and pour out all the fluid present in it. Now pour the fresh cooled distilled water and again pour it out.

Repeat the procedure

Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times until all the previous mixture is poured out.

Then again, add fresh and distilled water and turn the lamp on to produce heat. But make sure that you leave the 2-inch air gap that allows the expansion of wax.

When the lamp is getting heated up, then make a saline solution in the microwave by adding the salt to the distilled water.

Try not to use table salt. Transfer this solution to the lamp drop-wise without shaking or stirring the mixture.

Now, add a drop of dishwashing cleaner and a few drops of your favorite food color that will match the wax. After all these steps, screw off the lid. Your lava lamp is transfigured.
