The dishwasher is not starting or operating

In case if your Maytag dishwasher is not starting or operating try to find any of the several reasons. The first reason for this problem can be the control lock is on which is used in the case to avoid unintended use and the cycle of the dishwasher.

Or it might be on sleep mode. To make the dishwasher started working again, press the start or resume button, or press the lock button for a few seconds. It will start working again.

The dishwasher might not start or operate if delay the wash option is unintentionally selected. This option helps in washing the dishes at a later time which means it will not do the dishes until that set later time has come.

Press the cancel or drain button to cancel the delay and press the start or resume button to start washing. Close the door properly for the dishwasher to work properly.

The dishwasher is not working properly due to clogged filters

Sometimes the reason for the dishwasher not working properly can be clogged filters. You can find the filters on the bottom of the spray arm, or at the back of the dishwasher.

Remove the filter either with the help of a screwdriver or simply by hand. Now remove the debris of food particles from the filter and put it back in its place. It will start working properly again.

Water is not filling in the dishwasher

Your dishwasher might not work properly because of not getting filled with water. This is probably because the arm is blocked or the tub is not completely drained.

Another reason can be that float off the overfill protection device is stuck in a raised position and is not allowing water to enter. To reach the cylindrical float, remove the bottom tray of the dishwasher.

Now remove the bracket that is holding the cover, with the help of a screwdriver. Now tap the float if it is stuck, then remove the trapped utensils or any other obstruction which is keeping it stuck in the same position.

It will start moving freely resuming a smooth operation. Sometimes just resetting the dishwasher solves the problem. To reset unplug the power source for a while and then plug it back on, it might solve the issue.
