Removing and replacing this kind of filter is easy because it does not require you to unplug the system from the power outlet, and the process is pretty simple.
First, locate the filter at the bottom left of the fridge. Once this is done, turn the cap in the anti-clockwise direction to open it. Pull the filter out and discard it.
Now, unbox the new filter by removing the cap from the O-rings and check whether the rings are in good condition or not.
Next, rotate the filter in your hands to make sure that the arrow drawn on the cylinder points upwards. Align the filter with the cavity and push it through.
When the filter fits in, turn it clockwise to make sure that it is tightly fit.
The last step involves the flushing of water, where you need to press the water tap to ensure that 3-4 gallons of water pass through the system to wash off any remaining impurities in the system.
Second type
These kinds of filters are relatively easy to replace. First of all, you need to open the door of your refrigerator. The cooling chamber will be exposed. Now, you need to locate the filter.
Open the filter door and rotate the filter anti-clockwise to loosen it up. There is an indication line on the backside of your filter cylinder. Stop rotating when the indicator line is aligned with the install mark.
Discard the old filter and clean any water spoil with a cloth. Now carefully unbox the new filter and remove the caps from the O-rings. Check the rings again to assure that they are operative.
Now, align the new filter indicator with the install mark and push it in. Rotate the filter clockwise until it fits and the indication line touches the remove mark.
Close the door of the filter case and let the filter do its job. It is recommended to flush 3-4 gallons of water from the system to extract every tiny bit of impurity from the unit.
